MELLOw FIRST AID
The first aid kit redesign was created with accessibility and inclusivity
at the centre of the design process, specifically supporting individuals
with visual impairments, autism, and non-verbal disabilities. The project
reimagines the traditional first aid kit experience by creating a system that feels
calm, approachable, and easy to navigate during stressful situations. Using a
soft calming colour palette and simplified layouts, the design helps reduce feelings
of overwhelm while improving usability in emergency situations.
The kit was organized into three main categories of common household
injuries, with each section broken down into clear step by step instructions
that are easy to follow. Informational cards were designed to guide users through
emergency situations. Additional accessibility features include braille on the front
of the box and an integrated dry erase board for individuals with non-verbal disabilities
to communicate in emergency situations. The project transforms a traditional first aid
